The tool gives you two ways to create your signature:
- Draw — use your mouse, trackpad, or finger (on touchscreen) to write your signature freehand. This looks the most like a real handwritten signature and works well for formal documents.
- Type — type your name and choose a style: Script, Serif, or Print. Faster than drawing, and perfectly legible. Good for internal documents or when handwriting style isn’t required.
For legal contracts or documents where appearance matters, draw your signature. For quick approvals, typed works fine.
Can I choose where the signature goes?
Yes. After creating your signature, it appears as a draggable overlay on the page preview. Drag it to the exact position — signature line, bottom of page, wherever the document requires. You can also resize it by dragging the corner handle.
If the document has multiple pages, use the page navigation to switch pages before applying.
Can I sign all pages at once?
Yes — the tool has an “Apply to all pages” option. This is useful for multi-page agreements where initials or a signature are required on every page.
Is it legally valid?
This depends on your jurisdiction and the type of document. A signature image embedded in a PDF is widely accepted for everyday business documents, internal approvals, and informal agreements.
For documents with strict legal requirements — court filings, notarised contracts, regulated financial agreements — you may need a qualified electronic signature (QES) with identity verification, which is a different category of service entirely.
For the vast majority of documents most people sign — NDAs, offer letters, rental agreements, client contracts — a clear, placed signature image is sufficient and widely accepted.
When in doubt about legal validity, check with the other party or your legal counsel. For most everyday use, a drawn signature on a PDF is perfectly fine.
Is my document safe?
