By using PDForge, you agree to these terms. They're straightforward — we just ask that you use the service responsibly and don't misuse it.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using PDForge ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

PDForge provides free, browser-based PDF and document tools including but not limited to: merging, splitting, compressing, converting (PDF to/from Word, images, text), rotating, watermarking, annotating, signing, redacting, cropping, unlocking, OCR text recognition, page numbering, invoice generation, QR code generation, resume building, image compression, and document scanning. All processing occurs client-side in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. No files are transmitted to or stored on our servers.

The Service is provided "as is" for personal and commercial use. While we strive for high accuracy and reliability, output quality depends on input file characteristics and browser capabilities. Users should verify critical outputs before relying on them.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use PDForge only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or disrupt the Service. You must not:

  • Use the Service to process files you do not own or have legal rights to
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, copy, or redistribute the Service's code, libraries, or design
  • Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or scrapers to send excessive requests or overload the Service infrastructure
  • Use the Service to process, generate, or distribute illegal, harmful, defamatory, threatening, or offensive content
  • Attempt to bypass any security measures, rate limits, or access controls associated with the Service
  • Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations

We reserve the right to block access to users or IP addresses that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior.

4. Intellectual property

PDForge and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PDForge and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to the documents you process using the Service.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

PDForge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or produce results that meet your specific requirements. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.

While we employ industry-standard security practices, we cannot guarantee that the Service will be free from vulnerabilities, bugs, or unauthorized access. Browser-based processing has inherent limitations, and tool outputs may vary across different browsers, devices, and operating systems.

We strongly recommend keeping backups of your original files before processing. PDForge is designed for convenience and should not be your sole method of document processing for critical files without maintaining independent copies.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDForge, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or personal injury, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because the Service processes files locally in your browser, any file corruption, data loss, or unintended modification resulting from browser limitations, memory constraints, or software bugs is solely your responsibility. We recommend testing tools with non-critical files first.

7. Third-party tools and libraries

PDForge uses open-source libraries including pdf-lib, PDF.js, and others. These are governed by their respective licenses. Use of PDForge does not grant you any rights to these underlying libraries beyond what their licenses permit.

8. Modifications to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
